    Manchester Central

The venue for this event is Manchester Central, the GMEX as-was.  It’s easy to get to and has plenty of space for the various sessions.

There are maps linked below for those driving and the red flags show the nearest car parks.

For those taking the train, directions from the 3 nearest stations are shown below.

    Piccadilly
Leave the station via the escalators at the rear of the station (to the left as you leave the platform) and cross the road onto Whitworth Street. Follow Whitworth Street until you get to Oxford Road (you’ll see a Sainsbury’s local on the corner) and then turn right. After a couple of hundred yards turn left onto Great Bridgewater Street. Follow Great Bridgewater Street until you get to Lower Moseley Street and Manchester Central will be to your right.

For delegates arriving into Piccadilly station who don’t fancy walking the distance to the conference venue there are three options. The Metrolink runs every 12 minutes from the ground floor, accessible via the escalators to the rear of the station. Head in the direction of Altrincham and alight at G-Mex and you’re there. There are regular trains to Oxford Road and less frequently to Deansgate, both of which depart from platform 14 (the station is well signed so finding it shouldn’t be a problem). Don’t get too comfy as you’ll only be on the train for 3-4 minutes. The taxi rank at Piccadilly station is located at the Store Street entrance, accessible via the escalators to the rear of the station. Look out for signs in station or ask one of friendly station staff if you have any trouble.

    Oxford Road
Upon leaving the station approach (don’t take the steps) cross Whitworth Street West and walk up Oxford Road towards the city centre. After a couple of hundred yards take a left onto Great Bridgewater Street and carry on until you get to Lower Moseley Street and Manchester Central will be to your right.

    Deansgate
Exit Deansgate station via the steps and turn right onto Whitworth Street West. Cross over Whitworth Street West and turn left onto Albion Street at the first junction. Manchester Central is located a few hundred yards on the left.

Directions to the social venue, Revolution, are as above until the point where you would turn right up Oxford Road. Instead, follow Whitworth Street (Whitworth Street West at this point) for approx. half a mile and you will see Revolution amongst a cluster of bars on your right. You’ll know it’s the right one if there is a canal directly in front, and if you have to ask a local make sure you specify Revolution at Deansgate Locks as there is also one near Oxford Road station. A map showing how to get to Revolution from Manchester Central is shown below.
