Call for Papers closes 8th July

It is the ninth year of the annual sell out, not-for-profit PHPNW conference in Manchester. We are anticipating 550+ delegates, speakers and sponsors to travel from around the world. Our delegates will be immersing themselves into a pool of in-depth teaching on topics related to PHP; presented by an array of global industry leaders and speakers.

We need speakers to make this happen. Call for Papers (CfP) is now open and we are searching for individuals or small teams, who would like to present a talk to the delegates. Whether you are an experienced speaker, or you have little or no experience, the PHPNW community welcomes you to speak at their conference. PHPNW is a very friendly and supportive conference, it is an ideal chance to cut your teeth as a new speaker. We also need tutorial speakers, people who can teach a small group of developers for a few hours in a classroom environment on the Friday 30th September. Tutorial day is a great chance to share your skills, teach and get some real hands-on teaching done. You may prefer, to be a speaker at the tutorial day or the conference, either way, we would like to hear from you.

Over the 9-year journey of the PHPNW Conferences, our speakers have always been excellent, ensuring that the stories and the talks they deliver make the conference a huge educational and valuable success. You can have your bit of that be being a speaker this year. If you have any issues or concerns about speaking, get in touch we may be able to allay any issues you may have.

Last year, one of the speakers was James Titcumb. He delivered sessions at both the tutorial day on the Friday, and the Saturday of the PHPNW15 Conference. James stated that;

“PHPNW is not only a really well organised community-focused conference that welcomes up-and-coming speakers, but is also a platform for professional speakers to inspire and share their knowledge with a fantastic audience. Being able to share my knowledge with the community in Manchester was one of the highlights of 2015 for me.”

In order to ensure that we cater for our speaker’s needs, we offer separate packages for both tutorial and conference speakers. We do our best to offer some benefits to our speakers and these include:

The tutorial speaker’s package includes:

  • Thursday, Friday & Saturday accommodation at The Pendulum Hotel
  • Thursday night’s speaker dinner
  • Friday night’s speaker dinner
  • Sunday lunch
  • Saturday & Sunday free conference pass
  • Travel is not included in the speaker package

The conference speaker’s package includes:

  • Friday & Saturday accommodation at The Pendulum Hotel
  • Friday night’s speaker dinner
  • Sunday lunch
  • Saturday & Sunday free conference pass
  • Travel is not included in the speaker package

We are very excited for PHPNW16 and we cannot wait to make it the best conference to date. Please consider being a speaker and being a part of a wonderful PHP legacy and its history here in the North West. If you know someone who would make a great speaker, give them a friendly nudge and encourage them, you might be just what they need to make the decision to speak!

Call for Papers closes on the 8th July 2016, so make sure that you don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity and submit your talk application!
