The Venue
Update: Please note that the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly was previously known as Ramada Manchester Piccadilly
This year we are holding our 4th annual PHPNW conference at the newly-transformed Mercure Manchester Piccadilly which is a vibrant and lively hotel overlooking Manchester’s vivacious city centre.
An £18 million refurbishment has put the iconic 14-floor hotel back in the spotlight as Manchester’s 21st-century meeting place. The main conference will be held in the 800-capacity International Suite which makes a great venue and gives great potential for this year and years to come. You can gaze out over the city from one of the 280 contemporary rooms or take in views of Piccadilly Gardens from the Arts Brasserie and bar.
Due to it’s central location, everything Manchester has to offer is on the hotel’s doorstep – starting with the Manchester Visitor’s Centre directly adjacent to the hotel.
Pre Conference Social
This is the ideal time for delegates to meet old friends and find many new ones before the conference. More information can be found here.
Accommodation
The first weekend of October has been penciled in to be a busy weekend in and around Manchester, therefore we advise that you shop around for a place to stay as soon as you know you are coming.
As with previous conferences, there is an on-site hotel. If you are unable to book a room at the Mercure, don’t sweat. There are plenty of hotels in the nearby area – some of which we have noted here.
Feel free to come onto the IRC chat room or use the twitter tag #phpnw11 to find people to buddy up for a twin room.
