This year we are holding our 5th annual PHPNW conference at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly which is a vibrant and lively hotel overlooking Manchester’s vivacious city centre. The main conference will be held in the 800-capacity International Suite which makes a great venue. You can take in views of Piccadilly Gardens from the Arts Brasserie and bar. Due to the central location of the conference, everything Manchester has to offer is on the doorstep – starting with the Manchester Visitor’s Centre directly adjacent to the hotel.

Tutorial Day

This year, the tutorial day will be held in the Britannia Hotel Manchester situated across the street from the Mercure. We will be taking advantage of their smaller, more intimate rooms which will give the tutorial sessions a ‘classroom’ feel. ~~The Britannia Hotel Manchester are offering our delegates great value accommodation with an exclusive Bed & Breakfast rate for our delegates in their outstanding Grade II listed building~~ (This offer has now closed).

The Conference weekend traditionally kicks off with a social, this year however we’re having a hackathon – a coding Social! This is the ideal time for delegates to meet old friends and find many new ones before the conference. It will be held in the Crystal Suite which has it’s own bar and is adjacent to The Overstuffed Pizzeria. Those that have been on the Tutorial Day will have an opportunity to put their new knowledge straight into practice and will be joined by conference delegates and later by the speakers. You can code as individuals, pairs or groups, so grab yourself a pizza and a pint and get going.

Accommodation

The first weekend of October has been penciled in to be a busy weekend in and around Manchester, therefore we advise that you book as soon as you know you are coming. We have negotiated exclusive discount hotel rates with the Britannia Hotel Manchester and their sister hotel Britannia Sachas Hotel, see our Hotel page for these offers.
