About

PHP is the most popular tool available for developing dynamic Web sites.

PHP is in use on over 75% of all Web sites 1 and is the fourth2 most popular programming language overall .

The heart and soul of a conference is the community that it serves. PHPNW is run by passionate volunteers, bringing an annual conference that benefits both developers and their companies. As organisers, we consider each and every one of our attendees, sponsors and speakers as our guest, and we want everyone to feel welcome, respected and safe. Please make it your aim to ensure all of our guests feel welcome and comfortable, either at the conference itself or any associated social event. Any unsuitable behaviour may result in conference access being revoked. PHPNW is a good crowd, and we will endeavour to make sure it stays that way as the event grows.

What to expect…

Friday 4th October

The Conference weekend at Manchester Conference Centre will kick off with a hackathon – a coding social! Delegates who have been on the Tutorial Day may join the main conference delegates for the hackathon (subject to availability) and will have the opportunity to put their new knowledge straight in to practice. You can code as individuals, pairs or groups, so grab yourself a burger and a drink and get coding! Make sure you secure your place to the hackathon when booking your conference ticket, as numbers to this event are limited!

Saturday 5th October

Saturday is the main focus for the conference and delegates, it has the biggest all round buzz! The format of the day will follow previous years with opening keynote speaker, three conference tracks and an ‘unconference’ track running alongside the official content. After the conference day ends (around 6pm), there will be a social event with a one course meal and drinks to complete the day. This is the perfect chance to meet, inspire, debate, develop, network, motivate and connect with the PHP Community – This is where you really get to know people, find out what the latest news is and discuss current & future industry developments.

Sunday 6th October

As last year, Sunday’s programme is a continuation of the main conference, with a morning of nine sessions across three tracks and a closing keynote speaker.
