Conference Day 2

phpBB, Meet Symfony

Sunday 4th October 09.55 - 10.40

The recently released phpBB 3.1 was released with a large number of backend changes, including moving over to use many Symfony Components, Twig and many more external libraries, akin to those changes in Drupal 8.

In this talk, I'll discuss how we moved to these new pieces of vital infrastructure, the challenges we met along the way, why we chose Symfony and how doing so impacted our entire architecture and way of thinking.
