Rasmus Lerdorf is known for getting the PHP project off the ground in 1995. He has also contributed to several other open source projects over the years. Rasmus worked as an Infrastructure Architect at Yahoo! for more than seven years and then joined Etsy in 2012.
Rasmus was born in Greenland and grew up in Denmark and Canada. He has a Systems Design engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.

Rasums said “PHP has been around since the beginning of the Web. It has shaped and influenced many of the sites and web technologies we use every day. The SQL LIMIT clause came out of the PHP project, for example. Now, getting close to its 25th birthday, can it still make an impact?”
